HushCall™ Privacy Policy
How HushCall's emergency text and voice alerts work, how consent is collected from recipients, and how your data is protected. This policy covers the HushCall™ app only.
Effective date: July 4, 2026
HushCall™ is a personal-safety app. It sends emergency alerts only when you activate one, only to the emergency contacts you personally chose. Before we ever text a contact, that contact must opt in for themselves. Recipients can reply STOP at any time. We never send marketing, we never sell your data, and we never share your (or your contacts') phone numbers or opt-in consent with any third party for marketing or promotional purposes.
1. Who We Are
HushCall™ is a personal-safety mobile application operated by Atkins Media, LLC ("HushCall™", "we", "us", or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what information the HushCall™ app collects, how we use it, how emergency messaging consent is obtained, and the choices you and your emergency contacts have. If you have questions, contact us using the details in the "Contact Us" section below.
2. What HushCall™ Does
HushCall™ sits on the home screen as an ordinary app. When you open it and tap "Start Emergency Alert", HushCall automatically contacts the emergency contacts you have chosen — placing an automated voice call and, to contacts who have opted in, sending a text message that contains a live map link to your location. HushCall is a silent safety tool and is not a substitute for calling 911 or your local emergency services.
3. Emergency Messaging & SMS Consent
This section explains how our text (SMS) and voice-call program works, how consent to receive texts is collected, and how recipients opt out.
How emergency contacts are added & how consent (opt-in) is collected
HushCall™ does not use keyword sign-ups, purchased lists, or mass marketing. Each text-message recipient opts in for themselves before HushCall™ will ever text them:
- You add your own contacts. During in-app setup, you personally enter your own trusted emergency contacts (a first name and a mobile phone number) on the app's "Emergency Contacts" screen. These are people you know and trust.
- You invite each contact to confirm. For every contact, the app provides a "Send confirmation text" button that opens your own Messages app with a short, personal invitation and a confirmation link. The invitation is sent person-to-person, from your phone, to someone you know.
- The recipient opts in themselves. The recipient either (a) opens the confirmation link and ticks an unchecked consent box on HushCall's opt-in page, or (b) texts CONFIRM to HushCall's number, +1 888 759 1011. Only the recipient can complete this step.
- Consent is recorded per phone number. HushCall™ stores each recipient's opt-in (or opt-out) status on its secure server. The app displays each contact's status (awaiting, confirmed, or opted out).
What messages are sent, and when
- Messages are strictly user-initiated. They are sent only at the moment you manually activate an emergency alert — never recurring, scheduled, or automated marketing.
- When an alert is activated, each saved contact may receive an automated voice call stating your name, indicating you may be in danger, and reading your location aloud. In addition, each contact who has confirmed their opt-in receives an SMS text message with your name and a live map link. No automated text is sent to a contact who has not opted in.
Example 1 — confirmation text (sent once, after a recipient opts in):
Example 2 — emergency alert (sent only when your contact activates an alert):

Message frequency, opt-out & rates
- Frequency varies and depends entirely on how often you activate an alert; there is no fixed or recurring schedule. For most people this is rare.
- Opt out at any time: a recipient may reply STOP to unsubscribe from further messages, and may reply HELP for assistance. You can also remove any contact from within the app at any time.
- Message and data rates may apply, depending on the recipient's mobile carrier and plan.
- Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
No mobile information — including phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent — is sold, rented, or shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers are used solely to deliver the emergency voice calls and text alerts you initiate, and are shared only with the communications provider (Twilio) strictly for that purpose, as described below.

4. Information the App Collects
- Emergency contact details — the first names and mobile numbers you enter for the people you want notified. Stored on your device and, if you sign in, synced to your own private, access-controlled account.
- Location data — collected only while an alert is active, so your live position can be shared with your emergency contacts. During an active alert your location updates approximately every 15 seconds to keep the shared map current.
- Audio — at activation the app may capture a short ambient audio recording and may stream live microphone audio during the call, so a contact can assess the situation. If you are signed in, the recording is stored in your own private account for later review.
- Account information — if you create an account, we store the email address and authentication credentials needed to secure your profile, alert history, and recordings.
5. How We Use Information
- To deliver the emergency voice calls and text alerts you initiate to the contacts you chose.
- To share your live location with your emergency contacts during an active alert.
- To store your alert history and any audio recordings in your own private account for later review.
- To operate, secure, and improve the app.
We do not use your information — or your emergency contacts' information — for advertising or marketing, and we do not send promotional messages of any kind.
6. Who We Share Information With
We share information only with the service providers required to deliver HushCall™, and only for that purpose. These providers act as our data processors:
- Twilio — our communications provider, used to deliver the voice calls and text messages to your emergency contacts.
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud — used for account authentication and the secure, access-controlled storage of your profile, alert history, and audio recordings.
We never sell your information, and we never share it — including phone numbers and SMS opt-in consent — with any third party or affiliate for marketing or promotional purposes. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect someone's safety.
7. Data Retention
Live location data is retained only as long as needed to provide the alert and your alert history, and shared tracking links expire automatically a short time after an alert ends. Alert history and audio recordings are kept in your private account until you delete them or close your account. You can remove contacts, delete alerts, or request deletion of your account at any time.
8. Security
Data in transit is encrypted, and stored profile, alert-history, and audio data is protected by access-controlled rules so that only you can access your own information. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
9. Your Choices & Rights
- Recipients can opt out of texts at any time by replying STOP.
- You can add or remove emergency contacts at any time within the app.
- You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data by contacting us.
10. Children's Privacy
HushCall™ is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Effective date" at the top of this page.
